The deadline for abstract submissions is 15 March 2026. Authors will receive acceptance notifications by 30 April 2026. Late submissions may be considered at the discretion of the Scientific Committee.
No, accommodation is not included in the registration fee. However, we have negotiated preferential rates with several partner hotels in central Oxford. Details are available on the Accommodation page.
The congress is accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England for up to 18 CPD points. Delegates must sign in and out of sessions to claim credits. Certificates will be issued electronically within 4 weeks of the congress.
Cancellations received before 1 May 2026 are eligible for a full refund less a 10% administration fee. Cancellations between 1 May and 1 June 2026 will receive a 50% refund. No refunds are available after 1 June 2026. Substitution of delegates is permitted at any time.
Yes. Virtual delegates registered through IBCTV will have access to live surgery broadcasts and selected plenary sessions. On-demand recordings will be available for 90 days following the congress.
Yes. Upon completion of registration and payment, delegates may request an official invitation letter for visa purposes. Please allow 10 business days for processing. Contact the congress secretariat for details.
Abstracts should be submitted in English, structured format (Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusion), with a maximum of 300 words excluding title and authors. Original, unpublished work is required. Full guidelines are available on the Abstracts page.
Yes. Registered surgical trainees and medical students receive a significantly reduced registration rate. Valid institutional identification or a letter from your programme director is required at the time of registration.
The congress takes place at the University of Oxford Examination Schools, High Street, Oxford OX1 4BG, United Kingdom. The venue is in the heart of Oxford, within walking distance of major hotels and transport links.
Selected abstracts and invited papers will be published in a supplement of a leading peer-reviewed bariatric and metabolic surgery journal. Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified of publication details.
