Mr Bruno Sgromo is Consultant Bariatric and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is the Co-Director of the 1st and 2nd International Bariatric Club Oxford Congress

He qualified in Medicine from the Universita’ “Magna Graecia” in Catanzaro, Italy, and underwent postgraduate training in General, Upper GI and Bariatric Surgery in Italy, Scotland and Oxford.

Mr Sgromo has set up and led the Oxford Bariatric Unit since 2009. His clinical and research interests focus on metabolic surgery and its impact on the obesity related co-morbidities as well as minimally invasive surgery for cancer of the stomach and oesophagus.

Mr Sgromo is an active member of several national and European surgical societies to promote bariatric surgery and to improve patients’ experience and outcomes after surgery
