PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

At present I am working at PIMS, SZABMU, Islamabad as an Associate Professor in the Department of General Surgery . PIMS is a 952 bed Multi disciplinary, tertiary care teaching hospital. General surgical department has 86 beds with backup of a fully equipped ICU of 14 beds and additional beds in Private wards. The surgical department has 4 independent functional units. Each year 18 postgraduate residents are inducted for FCPS; MRCS & MS training programs. Currently seven postgraduate Residents are under my supervision for FCPS & MS program in General surgery.
Bariatric Surgery Experience
I started Bariatric Surgery at PIMS in February 2015, I am in process of establishing department of Bariatric Surgery at PIMS.
I am the founding Director of PSMBS- Pakistan Society of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgeons.
I have arranged six Master Classes/Clinical immersions/ Training courses in Bariatric Surgery at PIMS since December 2015. On my invitation eminent surgeons from UK, UAE and USA have visited PIMS and trained surgeons from all over Pakistan.
In March 2018 I invited Dr Robert Rutledge Pioneer Laparoscopic & Bariatric Surgeon from US and Founder Of MGB visited Pakistan and stayed for 3 weeks and conducted first two of its kind MGB Bonze Certification Courses in the world.

“Vascular Anastomotic Techniques”. Organized First workshop for young fellows & postgraduate trainees working in Islamabad & Rawalpindi on 4th March 2007 at PIMS in collaboration with Ethicon Ltd.

Attended and 2 Day Thiel Human Cadaveric Laparoscopic Bariatrioc surgery Training Course at Cusheiri surgical sjills centre at Ninewells Hospital,Dundee, 1-2nd June 2015. This course utilized preserved human cadavers for surgical training and is the best course for Bariatric surgical hands on training.
Attended 2 Day training course from CASE ,Acibadem university,Istanbul 8-9th February 2016. This was conducted in Animal Lab using pigs for training.
Awarded by PACE, MEDTRONICS as MASTER TRAINER Status for Advanced Laparoscopic Surgical training in Pakistan including the organization of Master Classes, Surgical Skills Training, and Clinical Immersion Trainings (both hands on and theoretical) in Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery since January 2016
